Please help me in educating the City Counsel in my area. Orlando, FL has started a Pilot Program in May of this year to allow hens. The Winter Park Initiative has requested at the last Council Meeting to give residents a similar opportunity. She brought a petition with over 500 signatures from all over. I was there and they seemed quite dumbfounded. They kind of stammered and announced to make it an agenda item soon.
I don't expect them to make an effort to find positive reasons so I was hoping some chicken owners could enlighten them. Please, please, please email them on the benefits at [email protected] or if you have better ideas to pull at their heartstrings email an individual.

- Carolyn Cooper has a history with the military and living in metropolitan areas. She cares for the city's local businesses and seems very business oriented. [email protected]
- Tom McMacken has been on Planning and Zoning, Tree Preservation, Public Art Advisory, and Historic Preservation Boards. He is a big part of the Winter Park Art Festival and is probably fond of their Farmer's Market that has many items like free range chicken eggs! [email protected]
