i would leave them alone.thats why its called lockdown. If they dont progress by tomorrow then think about assisting.Assisted hatches usually do more harm than good.

I dont know why everyone jumps to assisting with hatch so soon.Mother nature knows more than anyone here does. When chicks are ready to hatch they will.Ive never heard of mother hen putting coconut oil on her eggs to help them hatch.

That's your opinion and you are entitled to it.
I happen to disagree.

He is still alive and kicking. No progress tho. Won't stand up, tried to put him on his stomach but he won't have it..I put a lil food in there but hasn't touched it. Going on 24hrs out of shell.
Do not keep opening incubator. The change in temp is worse for chicks than position they are laying inside incubator.

We are "simulating" the incubation process.... Not perfectly replicating it. So if my incubation method isn't as perfect as a mother hen, then I'll do what it takes to help. If the chick was not "meant" to hatch, I'll take care of that too.

And I have seen hens help chicks hatch, as well as other chicks helping their hatchmates. I actually have pictures, if I can find them.

I stood above this momma hen, just observing, I did not intervene. Pips exposed, etc. They all hatched just fine.
