Please help me decide what to do....

Agree with everyone else.

it is a scam.

They could pay you properly through paypoint, and they should arrange all of the fees of their own order.

Don't give them anything.

Tell them clearly to take a hike unless they follow standard proceedures.

Your bags are fantastic and this one sale is not worth what it could cost you.

Get a store online and use paypal or something similar.

Webs does offer an online store but, I know nothing about Paypal. I know I would have to setup a bank account and paypal would deposit the money into that. But, when it comes to shipping, how do I do that? The cost to ship would depend on the items (I also do trivits) and how many they buy.

Finally, I have made it a personal policy not to deal with scam artists and thus I wont be completing the transaction. I look upon people such as you with disdain. You obviously believe you can sail through this life without any semblence of honesty or hard work. You postulate that you can obtain money from people like me who know the value of a hard day's work, and who find satisfaction in every dollar earned, knowing the effort that went into earning it. I made a point to respond to your emails from the beginning of our communication, knowing that I would not make a sale out of it but finding satisfaction now, in the thought that I have wasted your time much like you have wasted mine.

I got this from another forum, where someone got the same type of email and this is what she emailed back. I asked permission to save it and pass it along and she said "Go For It"
So make it your own if you want and send it to them

NO, NO, NO, don't do it! Very common SCAM. You put the money in the bank, then send X amount to them- 2 weeks later your bank notifies you the payment was no good- you are then stuck with bank fees and replacing the $, meanwhile they have the $ you sent them, as their profit.

FYI- I do business on the internet daily- and the scams are rampant. Cashier's Checks are frequently fake, Money Orders, even the USPS ones, are easily faked. I will take PayPal and personal checks first- anyone paying by personal check knows that I will not ship until check clears my bank. I've never yet had a bad personal check.

Avoid responding to emails poorly written, watch for bad grammar and puntuation, they are a dead giveaway. And the worst are the ones offering a little "extra" if you'll wire them money!

A friend in El Paso sold a piano online- the guy sent her a Cashier's Check from a well known bank. She was to deposit it, keep her price, and get cash from the rest to pay the company he sent to pick up the piano. They got the piano, she paid them cash, and 2 weeks later the bank nailed her for service charges, because the Cashier's Check was no good. Not only did that cost her, but she bounced a bunch of checks as well- and she no longer had a piano, either!

hi Farmer Kitty,

I have 2 online stores, but I only just started. I have set up Paypal. they link with your acccount and you transfer payments in as you want to.

As for the postage. I have made and estimate of cost of packing and postage, so it is up to them to choose really. if hey contact meI am happyto find out exactly how much cost will be.

I have made a note on my shop site to contact me for details.

To be honest, I have been slow in putting things in there as I am really busy this week for a Craft Fair I am doing on Saturday, but I am also doing flyers to advertise the shops and will putting details and pics of my things in the shops ready for any later trade.

Busy busy, lol... but should be set up by the weekend.

Just be so careful of any of these kind of contacts , they are trying to get your information, and they WILL use it... one day someone will find a way to make these deals secure. I hope. I am personally sick of scam e-mails. I used to work in charities and someone has put my address on a list being used in africa, and I get about 30 mails a day.... I report all of them, but in the Uk they are not chasing them.

Good luck to you, I really like your bags.

Jena. (Sorry for my typing this morning cold hands not working well today. )

Cluckychick, I like the email! Not sure I would use it for fear of inflaming things but, I like it!

Okay, we keep coming back to Paypal. Once again I ask, how would I figure the postage? Do I set a certain amount per item and that's that? If someone were to order a totebag and a set of trivits throwing in the totebag with the trivits wouldn't cost much more than the trivits alone but, sending it individually would cost more. Or if they order a couple totes compaired to one. How would I do this?

Very good advice Ranchhand,

I know so many of you ladies sell online andhave somuch more experience than I have. I have learned a lot fromthe threads on here and have set my own up right. If they want your goods and are honest, they will follow the correct setup.

Many many thanks.

Jena.
