Please help me diagnose hen - poop photo

Thank you, Wyorp Rock. I found Baytril 10% oral solution for poultry on website. I will order that and see how it goes. I do have VetRx which I've never used. I did not think she had anything respiratory so I didn't open it. Do you recommend that I use it as well?

I really appreciate your sound advice and kind words!

ps... I just read that "Some drugs, such as fluoroquinolones, including Baytril (Enrofloxacin), choramphenical, nitroimidazoles, and glycopeptides (including Vancomycin) are illegal to use in poultry in the United States, regardless if the animal is a pet." Back to the drawing board! I guess I'll call the vet in the morning.

Thanks again. I'll update with any developments.
VetRx would have about the same affect as Vick's Vapor Rub.

As for the Baytril, it's not approved for use in laying hen, there is not enough information to determine residue in eggs/meat. Vets still do prescribe it for poultry, so see what you vet recommends.

Wyorp Rock, many thanks for sharing your wisdom!

Holly, my Easter Egger, continues to do well, apart from the watery droppings, though even her poop looks more normal today. She is back to being active with the rest of the little flock.

We took a 50 minute car ride yesterday to an "exotics" vet who seemed to know what she was doing. She examined her thoroughly and found her to be lean, but not remarkably so, full crop, no distention, no mites, no egg. She also did an ultrasound and found no fluid accumulation. They ran a lab test on the droppings and called this morning to say it was negative for the common parasites. For the diarrhea she offered to prescribe a probiotic, which I accepted. They said if it's something more sinister they could do blood work and x-rays, but I declined. I have not seen any more evidence of possible lash, but I know what to look for now. I guess I'll just keep an eye on her. This forum is a lifesaver thanks to people like you who have helped me enjoy and care for my lovely hens.

Thank you so much!!!
