Please help me SHELL-LESS eggs for 1 month

About a month ago my chicken started to lay eggs that were softer at one point I became shell-less. She lays these shell-less eggs in and I’m spots such as the backyard and under the roosting bar. She has been playing i in a pooping motion. Today she won out in the morning layed the egg white and yolk then a minute later the membranes and stuff. About 3 days ago I started to giv her calcium and vitamin d3 pills, she at some of it. But nothing happened it kept getting worse. Please help me I’m starting to get really worried. EDIT: She looks healthy acts normal and eats well.

I was thinking of taking her to the vet which is something I have never done

There must be something in the air because I’ve been having the same problem with a few of my hens. The only change I had made in their diet was adding in some game bird crumble (for extra protein since I don’t free range them). I’m going to stop feeding that for now. I also just wormed the flock about a week and a half ago (one girl pooped out a clump of roundworms so I suspected a worm infestation might be the problem). But I‘m still seeing soft shelled eggs, so not sure if the worming worked, if it just takes a while for them to get back on track, or if it’s something else entirely .

I had the same problem; my OE layed softies for a week and hasn't layed for a month now. I gave her some medicine and she was acting better, but still no eggs. watching this thread

Yup! I don't know what's going on. I have three that I know have been laying soft eggs/not laying at all. One of the girls I took in from someone else (she showed up in their yard and they couldn't find the owner) so for all I know, she's getting to the age where she will slow down anyway, but the other two are only two years old and this is the first time I've had egg issues with them .

What exactly do you feed your birds each day?

The first thing to look at is what you feed.
The second is do you have any type of disease in your flock?

I feed them layer feed, water, oyster shells and grit inseperate feeder and treats. I give them mealworms and grains, I have been giving them more than usual and been doin hongs not very smart like putting corn in their feed and oyster shell and grit.

Could you tell me what medicine you gave them? Also how did you diagnose it. Mine act normal and look healthy.

i gave her baytril, but i figured out the problem today. it was vent gleet. Make sure your girls are clean, or it could be a feed problem.

Stop everything but the layer feed and plain water.
