Please help me troubleshoot my incubator

Breech baby is chick #1! I helped remove a bit of her shell without puncturing the membrane, then let her be for a couple hours. She rested and then pushed herself out :) 5 more pipped and rocking. I guess we did something right!

They're from our flock of mixed birds. Some Black Sex Links, Barred Rocks, Sussex, a RIR. Our roos are Americana and Buff Orpington. It will be interesting to see what hatches! I'm hoping to get some Easter Eggers from the bunch!

Nice! Please update along the way.
I'm hopefully going to buy eggs tomorrow or Saturday!

You can get a styrofoam incubator for 50 bucks lot less stress.Or I built one out of a cooler, hot water heater thermostat and a light fixture that works great.Search YouTube for diy incubators..

6 fluffy peeps so far! We had one die as it was zipping. Didn't look like anything was wrong with the chick except that its head was turned away from the pip so I wonder if it just got stuck and suffocated. 8 eggs left, 1 more pipped a few hours ago.

BigBruce, this was all I could manage with what I had on hand. Next time I'll make a better one for sure. Better yet, I'll use a broody hen! None of my hens were broody when I needed one. Now I've got 2 broody hens in the nest, go figure.
