I noticed today that one of my 6 week old pheasant chicks has light brown/yellow runny poops. Does anyone know what might be causing this? You may be able to see it in the foreground of the photo if you zoom in.

Looks like it’s cecal poop which is stinky poop from the empty cecal. It’s normal. Make sure they have fresh clean water, grit, and make sure they are free of parasites. If they don’t look or act sick they are fine. Have you wormed em yet?

Poultry grower pellets and some chopped apple and dried mealworms as a treat in the afternoon when they start to get bored.
Most likely it's cecal poop but I wanted to know what you were feeding before making a judgement. What percent protein is that feed?

:thumbsup
Hi, that makes sense, cuz I am only seeing 1-2 poops that colour during the day when they are in the run. The protein content is 16%. Thank you so much for all your help

16% protein is insufficient, should be 24% protein.

Brilliant, thank you for your help and advice. They are all healthy in every other way, so think your diagnosis is probably right 👍
