Yes. It can take 24 hours for a hatchling to make an external pip after the internal pip. However, from my understanding a couple breeds...I think call??? Are known for needing help. @WVduckchick can help you more with duck hatching. I'm strickly chickly in the poultry world...lol

ok thank you

Ducklings need to rest and can easily take 48 hours, so don't be alarmed if it stops for a little while. Day 26 is still plenty early... actually perfect for a pip. Don't panic yet!

But more important questions need answers first..... I assume you are incubating these yourself? What kind of incubator? What have your temps/humidity been running throughout the process? What kind of ducks? Where are you located (higher elevation makes a difference)

Sorry I panic easily. I am incubating this egg in a hovabator still air 1602n,temps have been around 99.5 but we did have a power outage so it dropped to 90 for around 30 minutes, humidity has been around 55 but is just under seventy now for lockdown. Since this was a staggered hatch with chickens, the humidity was around 65-70 for their hatch. I am not exactly sure what kind of duck because it might be crossed since we got the eggs from a free range farm but I am guessing a pekin duck. I am in Northwestern Ontarioand it has been very warm here the last couple of days .

Ok, no problem... just breathe! lol Normally still air temps are run a little higher, like 100-101, but that's ok. Better lower than too high. 30 minute power outage shouldn't be a problem either. (I had over 24 hours outage!) Did the chickens hatch on time... near day 21?? They could be a good indicator if you are running on time with the ducks. I assume you set them all at the same time?
Oh, and how many duck eggs are in there?

One chick hatched on day 20 2 on day 21 and one either late 21 or early 22 the rest of the chicks died young. Only one duck egg in incubator lockdown. I only put in one though for fun. And yes they were all set same time

Yes, you are doing fine. Keep cheeping right along with it. It will know you are there, and it will encourage it to come out. That was good timing on the chickens, so I suspect the duckling is ok too. So it is cheeping, but no broken shell yet? Right? That should mean its internally pipped but not externally. How long have you heard it cheeping?
