Please help, not sure what the problem is...

Do some looking around at other places. I know you are in Canada and shipping may be high, but check on Ebay and online supply stores - you may be able to find a smaller size of tablets.

Here's a smaller size, for $20.39 but I see it's backordered for a few weeks, but you may be able to find that size elsewhere

@TheYLWFlock, so sorry for your loss but thank you very, very much for posting here. This thread will be incredibly informative for others in the future, myself very much included here! Please be sure to post the results of the necropsy. Thank you also to all you supremely helpful, knowledgable people on BYC. This truly is an amazing resource!

Thank you! I’m glad that people can learn from this experience. I will post the results as soon as I get them.

You only need an ounce or two which is what used to be in a sachet, so I guess that price will be correct for that bulk amount. Vets used to use it all the time for horse wounds etc until they started using Hibiscrub (chlorohexidine) but I don't think that will work on Marek's. I believe Virkon S is now mainly used for preventing the spread of serious viral diseases on farms like Foot and Mouth and then of course they need large volumes like that.
Ok I will be sure to look around. I’ll check after school today, maybe call around at the vet.

Thank you, I will check there and on other sites as well.

Thank you all so much!

I would imagine that 50grams would be enough. If you only have a small flock, I assume you also only have a small coop, so a gallon of diluted Virkon S will go along way. Not saying that 50g in a gallon would be the correct dilution (you will need to follow the instructions on the packet) but I would be extremely surprised if it makes less than a gallon. 50grams is roughly 2oz which is what I would estimate was in the old sachets I used to get and dilute in a bucket.

Awesome! Yes it’s a pretty small coop, but enough space for all of them! I will get two packages, so that I can have some for the future as well. Should I wipe only the inside, or the outside as well? I did a full clean of the coop and run and all that this afternoon.

That is good planning. I would use a sprayer to get the solution right into all the cracks and crevices. Really give the inside a good drenching from top to bottom. Choose a good drying day and do it in the morning so that has all day to dry out afterwards.

Sounds good! I can block off the entrance to the coop because the whole roof lifts up for access, so I wouldn’t want them flying away. They have their food and water outside, but my only concern is that Ruth, my only laying pullet, always want to lay in the very middle of the day, and the nest box is inside, so should I just move it outside of what do you think?
