I posted this in the emergency section too, but I was hoping the goose experts would see it right away, please forgive me.

Our gosling is 2 weeks old. She was perfectly normal up untill this morning. Now it seems her legs don't work right, it seems like they won't hold her up and shoot back behind her when she tries to walk. She is also not her perky peeping self, doesn't come up to us, kind of lethargic. her poop is green today, where it used to be brown, the color of her food. And she seems cold and shivery, even tough she has a heat lamp. She eats unmedicated chick starter 18%. Please help our little Bubbles! She can't seem to walk at all now, her legs sort of stiffen up and go every wich way and she ends up on her back.

I hope your little baby will be fine. I'll bump this up for you.

Hi,

Do you have an avian vet nearby? I'm not sure...just know you need to get her to a vet. Even a farm vet that has access to waterfowl information may be able to help you. I'm holding good thougts.

I'm sure am stumped. On Saturday, she perked right up after I gave her Polyvisol and electrolytes in her water. By Saturday night it was like nothing was ever wrong with her. But she has refused to eat her chick starter ever since. She ate grass all day yesterday and was otherwise normal. This morning she is back to being lethargic. She still won't eat her food, I sprinkled it with brewers yeast. Now she won't eat anything and is hardly drinking either. She just sits in the corner. She talks to me but if I move her to the middle of the brooder she heads back to her corner. I don't know what else to do?

I don't know much about geese, but I too would suggest niacin. 1 way to encourage eating to to have them in the tub with running water and give them their favorite treat. I give my ducks chopped up tomatoes. brightly colored and this gets them started then I add it to their food. Also a boiled egg chopped up may be good as well. Good luck. I hope someone else with more knowledge can help.

sometimes, they are just listless when by them selves (the way it sounds you just have her) I only use a pellet because ours goslings never seem to like the crumbles! If she will eat grass give her all she wants (geese if given the chance usually will eat grass and nothing else) Good Luck and keep us posted.
