My hen missy has this swelling at least a week ago it appeared over night. It started on the side of her leg and now her toes are slightly swelling. She doesn’t have a cut or puncture she’s walking just fine, eating, drinking, and laying. She just had this firm lump. My mom said it doesn’t feel like an abscess she’s a foot doctor so I’m so confused because missy has no pain. The bottom of her feet look identical too, again no pain when I touch it.

How old is she? If it's injury I'd expect some limping or some sign of discomfort. Possibly articular gout? You can find images of that on line to compare. Soaking in epsom salts daily won't hurt anything, see if it helps. Even a very tiny injury could start bumblefoot, so after soaking and getting the feet very clean I'd examine again looking very carefully for any possible injury even between or on toes. Pictures of the bottom of the foot would be good.

That’s what is confusing I cleaned her feet and no injury. The lump is on the side of her leg not the bottom of the foot nothing is swollen there. It’s not red or hot or painful. They did have a calcium deficiency but I switch food and added oyster shells. Yet, she seems perfectly fine never limping. She is 2.

How high is the roost? Pay attention to how she enters and exits the roost.. see if she favors it when she hits the ground.. could just be a sprained joint.. I’ve had them develop arthritis that way, a long time ago and it progressively gets worse, I now have a low, medium and high roost so they can go up and come down gently now and I haven’t had a problem in 10-12 years I bet.. it’s worth a shot... good luck

Gout can have many possible causes, too much calcium is one. Or kidney disease. It's best to have oyster shells in a separate feeder rather than mixed in feed, that way those that need it can take it. Even layer feed could possibly have too much for some birds, particularly roosters or older hens that are no longer laying. If vet care is an option they could do some testing.
Here is an article on gout in poultry and some causes:

Whether it's gout, or an injury/sprain/strain, the daily soaks won't hurt, and might help. Some sprains or strains can take a while to resolve.

mine are pretty high and she is a jumper 3 1/2 feet - 4 feet high I have 4 levels ranging from 1 foot to 4. Can arthritis show up over night?

No but an injury can, then it becomes progressively worse.. causing a limp, locked up foot from calcium build up.. I call it arthritis don’t know what else to call it..

She acts fine that’s why I’m baffled. No limp no nothing. But she is a jumper so I assume she jumped down from the 3ft roost cause they fight over them, and then hurt her foot because now she’ll use the “stair case” and she’ll step down but she doesn’t seem painful. I noticed the side of her leg swelled up but her toes are swelling a lot slower. She also still has all the mobility as the other no pain when we move the joint. Since they had a Calcium deficiency I switched from the protein feed to the layer feed.

Do you notice any swelling of her hocks or on the right ankle? If it is an injury, or sprain, the toes may have swollen because of the ankle swelling. If both ankles and hocks develop swelling, but the toes are normal, that can be a sign of joint infection, but if it remains in only the leg ankle, I would suspect a sprain. Gout will cause lumpy swelling of the whole foot and in both feet.

No the only swelling she has is in the ankle a little and the side of her leg. That’s why I’m thinking injury because it’s only in that one spot, and her toes could be swelling because she keeps putting weight on it. She has a scab on the other foot in her back toe so my thoughts are if it was bumble foot that would be blown up too since the bacteria. Her joint isn’t hot or red and she can still move it / walk just fine she’ll even put all her weight on the swollen foot. I’m confused on if you think it is an infection or not. She’s eating drinking running around like normal. Just the big lump last week and the slight swelling of the toes I noticed last night.
