hello everyone , i’m currently at a lost at what my chicken might have and how to cure her. Yesterday i went to take everyone out of the coop and found her in a corner with her eye swollen. I brought her inside and cleaned it with saline and left it at that because she did have bubbles coming out but after i cleaned it they went away. She stayed inside and seemed to be doing fine. However , today her eye was completely stuck together and she has like this white almost cheesy like stuff inside. I , again, flushed her eye out and cleaned what i could with a cotton swab but i don’t know where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Does she have any other symptoms of a respiratory disease, such as sneezing, gasping, or rattly breathing? She might have MG, a chronic respiratory disease that can cause a foamy eye and it may get sticky and cause crusts or pus in the eye. The pus comes from a sinus infection. Look for any foreign body or dirt/seed stuck in her eye. Rinse the eye twice a day with saline or an eye wash from your pharmacy. Then apply either Terramycin eye ointment from the feed store, or plain Neosporin triple antibiotic ointment from the pharmacy. I also would order Tylosin powder and treat her water for 5 days at 1 tsp per gallon of water. Have you added any new birds recently. Here is where to buy Tylosin without a prescription:

No other symptoms, just sleepy. I’ll be sure to keep cleaning her eye and get terramycin. And, she and another copper maran are the new additions.Thank you so much!!
