PLEASE HELP *Urgent*

I know you are sad? BUt Where did you get the chicks This might be your fault If you got them from a Hatchery I would Call ASAP they might know what is wrong,,,it is likely others have this same problem, if so they will give you your money back,, you could try again..I am so sorry...I dont know what it sounds like but you can try yogurt...

Just an idea but did they get into any moldy feed? Did they come in contact with the dirt outside?

Cocci doesn't usually make them gasp. I've had cocci in my babies twice. IF that's what it is switch to medicated feed asap, and use Corrid or Sulmet in the water.

To me it looks like it could be an impaction from eating bedding.

Not sure. Sorry you are going through this.

You meant to type "this might NOT be your fault" right? The OP is pretty upset already and I'd hate for her to get even more sad about losing chicks thinking it's her fault when I'm sure it isn't.

Thanks so much everybody, I called up my local hatchery and they apologized and gave me my money back, with that money I had my mother take me up to another feed store downtown and I got a new Buff Brahma. She is acting much better then the other one, she is already foraging and exploring the brooder/getting to know the other chicks. Apparently the old hatchery I went to had a bad outbreak of cocci and mareks. The other chicks are acting as happy as can be and Susan quickly recovered (she was showing signs as well). I'll get some pictures up of the new chick! She isn't as cute as Basil was, but she is still adorable!

- I take them outside to forage in the yard sometimes which they enjoy, but otherwise they never get in contact with dirt and whatnot. And nope, no moldy food, I always check the food before I give it to them (especially treats).

If the other chicks may have cocci or been exposed, you'll probably want to treat everyone or at least start giving medicated feed. I'm glad you were able to get new chicks.

I am a total chicken newbie...my first flock is just a month old. I am so sorry you are going through this.

Trying to learn here. Did the crop look really full in that picture to anyone else?

Wish the best for the little chick.

This is my first flock too! My oldest are 18 days right now. I think the chick just had bad genes, didn't get the nutrition needed, and was just.. to weak to move on. She ended up dying this morning and I'm hoping that I will no longer have to watch any chicks suffer, it is the saddest thing I've seen.
