Please help...ways to cull a chick?

*hugs sunket*

I'm glad it worked for you this time. It's rough to have to deal with this stuff; rougher when it doesn't go right.

Have someone else in your family r a friend do it for you. That way you will not know how it gets done, just that it is over with. Good Luck and I and sorry for your loss.

We just had to do this with a gorgeous Serama pullet. She had spraddle leg and I braced it twice to no avail. Then the other leg ended up spraddling. I felt awful. DH finally took care of it for me, though I think the ether/can method seems like what we will do in a situation like this in the future.

{HUGS}

THANK YOU for the ideas......we just had to go through this and I never thought of ether or dry ice.

Those both seem very humane.

I cannot recommend anything more than Dry Ice.
Go out and buy some dry ice, place the ice in a container with a lid with holes and then place both the chicken and ice container into a larger box.
Let them stay for maybe 5 minutes (if you have 4lb of dry ice it take only 2-3 min)
