PLEASE HELP WITH INFORMATION ABKUT MY DUCK!!

Its like for about 30 mins to 45 mins she breathes good and then start to gasp for air and look at me for help. I try my best to help her the best I could. She's my first duck I own but my fiance had ducks and chickens but he never seen something like this. If she makes it through she's gonna be a miracle duck. I never thought I would get so attached to her when I went to tractor supply and seen that she was the only odd ball out of the others and I feel in love with her color. At the time until today I didn't know if she was a male or female.

Nope it will actually hold bacteria in, so wipe it off and put some antibiotic ointment on it. Hopefully with your care and rest and quiet she'll recover. Ducks are really good at recovering from wounds main thing is to watch for flies and infection. You'll need to go over your coop with a fine toothed comb and find where this predator breached entrance. Does it look like snake bite. If you can get a good picture of the bite that may help us figure it out.

Is she your only duck? and she was in a coop alone?

I'm gonna keep her inside so no flies gets to her and I can keep a good eye on her. We looked at the cage nothing broke in or no scratch marks. When I seen it I thought of a snake bite because its side by side and close.

Snakes are able to get into many places we wouldn't even think of. I imagine living in Louisiana you probably have many to. Do you see many snakes around?

I seen a snake a week ago but it was died because it was ran over by a lawn mower when my fiance was mowing the grass and he didn't see it and when I went look I seen it.

Okay get a pic when you can so we can maybe tell what might have gotten into her. What are you using for a pen? if your using chicken wire that will not keep out snakes or mink or weasel etch.

I figured you would. I am originally from Florida and we had alot there in the south. Even here in the Mountain of NC we have many snakes.
