please help with lock down

so i have eggs still in the turner and ones i put on lock down that are on the metal grate. the problem is the temperature difference. can i put a towel under neath the ones on the grate to prop them up. or do they need to be on the grate to be able to get more air?

I think I towel would be fine, or just the up the temp a little.
