Hello everyone I have an 9 day old pigeon squab that has been out outcompeted for food by its larger hatch mate. The larger ones crop is always full while the young ones isn't. Thanks so much.

I would remove the one with the full crop until the other one is fed and his crop is full, then put him back. You might have to do this a few times.

If the smaller one is weak and dehydrated I would hand feed it about 20 thawed peas to get some hydration and nutrition in him right away. Just take frozen peas and soak them in hot water til the are thawed, do not cook. Then hand feed by putting in the back of squabs mouth, close beak and he will swallow.
Hope this helps.:)

As above poster suggested. Keep the fat one out of the nest until the parents fill up the smaller one, then put him back in each time so he gets fed last. After a few day of that the smaller one will catch up.
