its definitely feels great!!! I have a question for you, I have had Little Eagle in the house for going on 10 weeks and it was still warm outside at that point, shes been in a room with the temp at 80-85 degrees for the full 10 weeks. Now that shes better im not sure if I should introduce her to the elements and let her go back outside or keep her inside until spring time?. Oh and by the way little Eagle is a male! 5 males 1 female. I have some hen hunting to do befor spring

So you dont think it will trigger something in his immune system and start all over? Their hasn't been much sunshine here in the past week and its supposed to be rainy cloudy through out the weekend. Im also affraid the reat of my flock is going to pick on her. All I could do is stick him out on the pea roost at night so the chickens dont notice lol as if hes been there the whole time

Nope it needs to rebuild her immune system and that ain't gonna happen in the house.
Put her in a pen next to the other peas till they get use to her being there again, then one morning before daylight put her with them so they wake up together

You call it a boy and then a girl which is it?

Like Zaz said I would be tempted to take LE outside on nice days, but personally I would wait until after the worst of winter is over then slowly acclimate him to the elements. Perhaps moving the cage to the garage where it is cooler for a week or two before moving him outside would help him. I think it depends on the type of winter you have in southern OK. DW, OkieQueenBee, comes from Stillwater in the North of Oklahoma, and the winters there are more temperate than here but still snows and gets pretty cold.

We now live 200 miles north of Stillwater and are getting ready to go into what I call 'the deepfreeze' of bitter cold from the first of January to the third week of January. Typically during that time it stays well below freezing then after that the weather takes wild swings but continues to warm. If you lived in the Houston area I would say just throw him out, but I am inclined to think that some acclimating would be prudent even in your area.

im so used to calling him a her because up until a few days ago we thought he was a female. He seen me and fanned his tail up as if he was showing of for me. You dont think the cold will be bad for him then?

As long as it does not get down to a real hard, hard freeze right after you put him out he should be fine, you can always hang a red heat bulb out for him to get under if he gets cold, my peas will go in the brooder and get under the chicken chicks heat lamp sometimes when it is raining but prefer the warmth of the sun beating down on them even on the hottest of days

Both males and females will fan their tails and dance. LE still looks like a girl to me, but if you can take a pic of his/her back, looking down on it so I can see the feathers on the back and shoulder area, I could be more certain. Also what is his/her age now?

I cant wait until spring time just to see my peas happy and sun bathing! Im so excited that Little Eagle pulled through.!!! When i do take him out i will put my red lamp out so has the option to get warm, thats a great idea. Thank you. I have seen so many pics of your peas and they are absolutely beautiful! !!!!
