** Please help with sour crop or worms with sick hen***

It's hard to say. The symptoms of a sick chicken are kind of the same with many different problems. I think it's safe to say that if she had a gapeworm problem, that wasn't her only problem. It could be something deep inside of her that you can't get to. You are the one who is there to make the hard decisions. I hope she is able to pull through. But sometimes there isn't much we can do.

My heart is breaking for you. I was so hoping it was just gapeworm and she'd be up and bouncing by now. Are you giving her any vitamins or electrolytes? What antibiotics have you tried?
I wouldn't give up on her yet. The fact that she's still here and trying to eat shows that she has a lot of fight left in her?
I have a very sick hen at the moment, and I can empathize with your dilema. However, I just got some new very good advice here on the forum that I never would have thought of, so I'm going to try it and see what happens.
Please keep us posted.
Give yourself a hug and a pat on the back for trying so hard.

I have not tried electrolytes nor antibiotics. I have duramycin injectable on hand but I have no idea where or how to inject a chicken with it......or amount to administer. I do have a bag of electrolyte powder to put in the water.....but I have been treating the water with ACV to help with the crop. I am going to post another picture of how she is right now. Her color is fading quickly now

As you see there is no eye or nasal discharge at all. Just lethargic, loss of apatite, loose poops (lack of food and more water). I can't help but think that she has some sort of congenital defect that is causing a slow death.

I would definately get some electrolytes and vitamins in her asap. She could really bounce back.

i just added vits and electrolytes to the water. She drank plenty, then headed to the food I had out for her. She ate more than she has in a long time, cracked corn, layer crumble and layena pellets. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction...

update....so after eating and drinking her vit/electo water she is walking around the yard. I took her into the house to wash her bottom up a little. Other than having some wet feathers she looks and acts so much better. Thanks everyone I will keep you posted.
Now since Honey has been sick I have another hen who has gone broody. No roosters and she's not even laying eggs, she just screams if you walk near her nest....puffs up and screeches louder than the dickens!!!! Once I get Honey well i will have to tend to this one:

Keep putting the electrolytes in her water for a while. I try to do it periodically, they seem to like the water with it in there, and I figure it can't hurt them.
