Aloha from Hawaii-
We have had one Roo and one hen after losing our second hen to a neighborhood dog about 6 months ago.
They are aprox 1 year old.
Since losing one hen, the Roo and remaining hen started wanting to sleep outdoors on top of the coop.
They then started sleeping on the neighbors wall.
Then the neighbors tree.
They have just recently totally stopped free ranging in our yard and only come to the coop in the morning to eat.
They now sleep and spend most of the day free ranging with the wild jungle fowl and sleeping full time in the neighbors plumeria tree.
The hen has stopped laying eggs in her coop but is definable not sitting on a nest.
They are really enjoying their newfound freedom but we would like them to start coming home to roost and lay eggs again in the coop.
We have an unusual situation since we have lots of wild chickens always around and weather is never an issue.
Any tips or suggestions of how we can get back to our regular routine?
Mahalo nui!
