****PLEASE HELP****Yolk Still On Outside Of Chick & Partially Hatched

First eggs in homemade incubater. One hatched but yolk still on outside of body and chick still alive!! Is there anything I can do? or will it be OK??? One half of shell still attatched to baby

Afinney, I have never hatched eggs, so I can't help you, but if you went back and edited your Thread title to say the exact problem "Yolk still on outside of newly hatched chick", maybe someone who has experience will notice it more . Good luck, I hope the chick makes it.

I'm sorry to hear that. I just saw the post. Did you help it out? Sometimes it is just survival of the fittest. Sounds to me like maybe your temps and/or humidity was high. I assume you mean that the yolk was not fully absorbed. I wish I could have helped you... caught the thread late.
