Hello,
I hoping someone can help me. This past weekend I bought 2 stags and a pullet. They are 5 months old. The pervious owner told me he dewormed the stags a few days before. After I got then home I put them in separate pens by themselves. I seen them all drink water but the stags has not ate. The pullet is just fine. I even tried the same mixture the pervious owner feed them still no eating. Is this side effect from dewormed? Is there any suggestions to get them to eat? I have had chickens for 5+ years never have had a problem with new chickens eating. All input will be appreciated!
Thanks!

I've tried oats, crack corn, sunflower seeds and tomatoes they will pick it up then drop it. I've never had this problem has me worried

Are there any other signs of illness?

It *could* be there are upset with the move...but I too have moved lots of chickens and never had one stop eating with a move.

Worming shouldn't put them off their feed unless he gave them too much wormer and it made them sick.

I would keep an eye on them, keep regular food available for them, and watch. You may try some scrambled eggs to see if you can get them to eat.

Another thought...is it really hot where they are?

You might also put them on Sulmet or Corid...sometimes a move will kick in Coccidiosis, and the first sign is listless and not wanting to eat.

While you watch and wait, I'd put in the Sulmet or Corid and head off a possible bout of Coccidiosis. You'll know in a couple of days as they will perk on day 1 and be back to normal on day 2 (finish Sulmet on day 3, Corid on day 5 to 7).

My thoughts.

Ok thanks that helps a bunch. No there is no other signs of illness. The combs are the right color and there huge for there age. Now one won't go in to the coop to roost at night it stays outside but it isn't cold. During the day there running around and "talking to the other chickens" . I really hope its not that is there any other signs I need to look for?
Thanks I appreciate the help a lot
