Two days ago my chicken started caughing like she normally does when she eats too fast so i didnt think much of it but yesterday i found her gasping for air and can hear gargling in her chest/throat i looked at some other posts on here and saw that one user said she had turned her chicken upside down and chunks of grass came out relieving her chicken. But when i attempted this all that came out was a very foul smelling brown liquid. She is still alive and i keep doing my best to clear her throat throughout the day but i cannot afford to take her to the vet at the moment. If anyone can give me some advice it would be much appreciated

Welcome (sorry it's not under better circumstances)

Please post over on the emergency forum. Give a complete description of the age of your chicken, when the symptoms started, all that you have tried to do, etc...everything you can think of). Here's a link to take you directly there:

Good luck to you and your girl!

Maybe sour crop or gape worms, or ???? If you come online again - please post on the "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures, thread STAT Also put "sour crop," in the search box to see if that is what you are dealing with. Then try the same with gape worms.

Hi and welcome to BYC - you have some great advice already so I'll just say hello!

All the best

Thank you everyone. Im using this through my cell phone so its not easy to navigate. I will post in the emergency thread as suggested and also will check out the sour crop and gape worm:)
