I assumed that this lump on my chicken's face was canker so I've been giving her flagyl but it hasn't been working. The lump is getting bigger and I'm out of flagyl what should I do?

Personally I'd get her to a vet

Definitely get her to a vet, that could be infected. It will certainly affect her ability to eat soon, if it hasn't already. Also, keep her separate from the rest of the flock, as they may start pecking at it.

Thanks for your responses. I can't afford to see a vet but I might give them a ring. Last time I took a chook to the vet they didn't know anything about chickens and it costed $100. I'm thinking I might try amoxicillin or copper sulfate or both. Do you know what the amoxicillin dosage for a small bantam is?

Ok so I got a toothpick and picked at the scab, it looked like there was some yellow puss inside. It looks like a nasty infection, I have amoxycillin on hand, but I'm unsure of the dosage, she's a small chicken.

I'm going to give her amoxicillin at 125mg per kilogram of body weight because the lump is growing rapidly
