my Buttonquail Hen has bumped her head and it is Bleeding!!! how should I treat it?????? I have separated her from the male so he will not pick at the blood, & they can see each other. but they are just presses up against the wire trying to get to each other!!! Should I keep them separated? or will they get depressed? PLEASE HELP!!!!! & Thanks you for your responses!

Is the only issue the bleeding? She hasn't scalped herself or anything? If so, you could try reintroducing her in a day or so, once the wound has scabbed over and doesn't look too red. But don't do it unless you have time to watch what happens, the roo might find the wound interesting or he could open it while mating with her and you don't want that. In about 5 days time a small wound should be pretty much healed so if you wait 5 days to a week I think she'll be fine.

Thanks All! My Mom is in town so I will ask her to get some! also it is not big at all, just a little bleeding. I am a little cautious right now because a male and female I gave to someone else almost just killed the female because she had a tiny wound.
