Def don't use any kind of soap on her your right about stripping the oils off her feathers.

Just let her have a nice warm bath make sure to get her out before she become water logged and pat dry and put right back under heat to finish drying.

Brooder can get stinky pretty quick so try and keep it as clean as possible. It's important for her health.

I would get one of the others and have them in a look no touch pen..That Duckling will grow fast and they can be introduced while you watch them. I put Ducklings of all ages together.
I agree with this. Remember in nature they aren't separate. They are just introduced to the flock at birth, and every one gets along. You just have to introduce them slowly.

I feel the same way about my chickens and chicks. They hatch under a broody chicken. at 2 weeks, I move my brooder to the edge of the run so they can look, no touch. And at 3 weeks ill throw them into the pen. I have had no real problems.
Mother nature knows better then we do.

Hmm, it could be her brooder. I cleaned it out and also let her have a swim and she does not smell so bad anymore.

Swims really help when ducks get stinky, but I find if the brooder is clean, the ducks usually stay clean too!

I use pine shavings and find it to be very absorbent of smells and stool. Once when I ran out of shavings I used leaves temporarily and saw just how watery and nasty their brooder gets!

So the wood shavings help with the smell and absorb the poop? We made her a make shift place in the corner with the mirror for now but she keeps pooping where she sleeps and sometimes lying on top of it. We also went back to the pet store but all the ducks were bought out. We called every other pet store that sold ducklings but no one has any ducklings right now and doesn't know when they will get any new hatchlings. As for the poop, should i get a mesh bottom so that the poop falls through and she won't be able to lie in any of her poop or is that not a good idea?

You could always check the thread for your area and see if you can find someone with ducks. Even if they are bigger you could always keep them beside each other for company until they are closer in size.

Just search the forums for your location most states have a forum.

@QuakieChan are in Hawaii? If so go to "Where am I where are you" and look up your state or what ever state your in or country, and go to that thread then you'll meet others who have poultry including ducks.

Yes unless you used plastic mesh which would still be messy the ducklings feet will be cut up on metal. I suggest shavings[not cedar] and make it deep enough you can pick out the wet poop everyday and fluff the rest up and then just add more as needed.
