Please help

Glad that the eye issue is better. There might be a slowdown of the crop due to their recent illness, or possibly sour crop. Some chickens will peck and pull feathers out of their chests if they are having a crop problem. What are you feeding them now? Check their crops tomorrow morning, first thing before they have access to food or water.

Thanks for the info. They're eating layer crumbs. They haven't stopped laying at all. They MIGHT have been broody when this started. Mom said the Wellie was defenitly broody when this started, but not sure about the Barnevelder. They both have no feathers from crop down the chest bone just like a broody. I will check in the morning and report.

Well if they were broody, that would explain the feathers. I would just keep an eye on their crops. I have just happended to notice that when I have had a broody hen, they sometimes have a soft crop.
