Eeek! I cannot wait for my babies to arrive. Thank you for all your help!!It’s so hard to wait but being on a wait list means your turn will come! Hopefully soon too!![]()
So annoying!! I am also upset at the fact that many people in my area have been purchasing ducks and chickens for fun with no real experience at all. Which is fine, as we all have to start somewhere. But I see people buying one singular duckling and keeping it in their house or without real feed etc. Very upsetting to me.How frustrating for you!
I read an article recently that due to COVID, hatcheries are overwhelmed with orders, as people have decided to raise their own poultry for eggs and meat. (How stupid, IMO)
Similar experience this spring with ordering vegetable seeds.
Everone thinks they can be a homesteader. SMH.
But it isn’t stupidHow frustrating for you!

Oh trust me I totally understand. My husband and I were both fired from our jobs and are living off what we have right now. I do not think it is stupid, I just think that after buying a coop, brooder set up, the chicks themselves, etc. you would be much better off buying a dozen from the store or from a local farm. Just my opinion thoughBut it isn’t stupidSome people have to find ways to provide for their families.
Yeah but I mean due to shortages, etc. raising your own flock isn’t stupid. Totally get what you mean as wellOh trust me I totally understand. I absolutely agree with you. My sentiment was concern for the birds and impulsive new chicken and duck owners would probably not have an understanding of how to care for these animals. But it isn’t stupidSome people have to find ways to provide for their families.
