I just checked my chickens for night time and one of my babies is not doing good at all.. He has droopy poofed out feathers and is extremely lethargic… he’s been declining more sense I noticed.. He also has this weird bone like structure under him I have no noticed before is this a sign he hasn’t been eating?!? :( Please tell me what to do to help him :( I’m afraid I caught cocci too late.. i’m ordering corid and hopefully it will be here in the morning but what can I do.. this is one of my sweetest babies and he turns 6 weeks old tomorrow:( I am so distraught

What have you been feeding it?
Is your bathroom warm?
Tubs are usually cold. Do you have a heating pad you could put under one of those towels?

Yes there is a heating pad under there now, bathroom is warm. They are on purina medicated stater crumble, I made some
mash for him but he’s barely eating :(
Poor thing doesn't look well at all.
I'd prepare for the worst.

How long have you had him?
Was/is he pooping blood?

No blood in poop at all and he was doing great this morning and afternoon i’m so shocked I didn’t notice how skinny he was :( I’ve had him for 2 weeks and his 3 siblings are doing great but i’ll be checking them more thoroughly

We had a chick like this. It was a quail, and it would not eat food. I would try to force feed, since it will not eat on its own. For the bottom bone structure, I have no idea... is it a defect? Or did it just appear or grow in?

From my understanding it’s the Keel, a normal bone structure and it’s supposed to be very thick on both sides but he’s not he’s superrrr skinny which is so worrying :( How did it end up for your quail and how did you recommend force feeding him?

Oh... that quail died. :( We weren't really prepared at that time, but from what I have seen, force feeding is like sticking a tube down the chicken's throat and forcing liquid food down. I just don't know if it might choke you chickens...
