could it be avian marek's disease?

I’m not sure. He gets are not totally paralyzed. They grabbed onto my finger.

Stool: black tarry
Abdomen: seems to squishy and filled with liquid.

Where did you get your chickens? Did you get any chicken from a place other than reliable hatcheries? It sounds like very typical Marek's symptoms, but it can also be injury, infection, tumor, etc.

No they’re all the same age. I got them all at the same time…

There are just so many things it could be.

I've been away from here for awhile and can't remember how to tag folks. Any chance someone could tag wyorprock and eggsessive

I don’t think so. Because everybody is out free ranging at the same time. If that were the case I would assume more than 1 out of the 10 would also be like this.

It could be a secondary poisoning in case she ingested a previously poisened mouse that was too slow already to get away. Just a thought.
