Please help!

update:
so, she's still not eating. but shes kinda started to drink on her own. One of her eyes opened but I don't think she can really see out of it. she has started puffing up her feathers and shivering. (I don't think shes too cold because she is in a garage, but I could be wrong) I haven't got around to feeding her the tuna yet. does anyone have any other opinions?

I’m sorry she isn’t doing well. Can you please post pictures of her. How are her wounds looking and how have you been managing them? Have you been applying ointment to her eyes? If she were mine, I would bring her into somewhere warm and see if the shivering stops, then you have your answer on if she is chilled, which she may be if she has an infection.

Inspect her well for injuries you may have missed treating that could be infected.

Do you have a flat panel heater like you’d use in a brooder or under your desk to keep your feet warm? Might want to put that in where she can get close it (and get away from it if she’s warm). Definitely try the fish or wet kitten chow. Try wetting her normal chicken chow. I add warm water to the girls’ chow in the winter and they think it’s a huge treat!

Good morning from Tasmania! Looking forward to an update when you get a chance. Not sure of the time diff where you are. I hope there is some improvement and that some of the suggestions work for you. You are in our thoughts. I can see several of us lingering here and willing things to get better for you. You are not alone.

Both of her eyes are open now, but I still don't think she can see. I've been getting her to eat some. Does anyone know if she will gain back her sight? Thank you everyone for sticking with me! :D

When I saw your name in updates....I braced myself. Several threads I have been following had sad endings. I am so relieved for you!

Can you supply pictures for the educators? They will need more info. They might be able to give you a fast no from pics but I doubt they can give you a definite yes..if that makes sense. A maybe would be amazing though..wouldn't it?

My friends dog went blind maybe 4 years ago and he still has a wonderful life so..either way..yours is a success story!

So happy for you and your little chicken.

Chickens are amazing creatures. Her vision might come back, it might not. It may partially come back. One of my oldest gals (she’s almost 7 years old) has been partially sighted for many years. She’s just a normal chicken - loves to go wandering around the yard, digs up worms, eats like a stevedore… Doesn’t matter whether she eats from the feeder or my hand, she just keeps going until she’s full. She might have to make a few attempts before she gets the peanut butter ball or the sunflower seed out of my hand, but she’ll get it eventually.

Keep the faith. If she’s made it this far, she’s a fighter.

Update:
She is eating on her own now and starting to gain weight! also, it looks like she can see a little better today!
I finally got pictures of one of her eyes. I saw today that part of her comb looks like it might be falling off or something? so I got that in the picture too. but overall shes doing a lot better! the only thing I'm not sure about the comb though. (that is definitely new btw)
oh also, this is her much better eye. The other one looks a lot different but I couldn't get a picture of that one
