I've got a hen who's had a very sudden drop in activity. She is falling asleep standing up very frequently, not coming over for treats and her comb is not as strong as it usually is. I've brought her inside and offered water and scrambled egg. What else should I do? Does anyone know what could be causing this? It has been hot here the past few days so she's been inside a couple of them, I'm not sure if that's got something to do with it. I'm sure something wrong but i don't know what any input would be appreciated

Do you see her eating and drinking? I think she might be dehydrated or she is egg bound.

Electrolyte solution in addition to a separate plain water source is usually a good basic supportive care step. If she's not drinking on her own you can slowly drip one drop of water or electrolyte solution at a time onto the line where her upper beak meets the lower beak until she refuses by shaking her head.

Is she laying eggs? If yes, when was the last time she laid? Any odd "penguin" stance?

What do her droppings look like? Any bumps, lumps, or sores anywhere? How's her breathing? How long ago did you notice the drop in activity? Any other chickens showing any symptoms?

Do you have photos of her and her poop?

I agree, I'd work on hydration. If she's not laid an egg and should have, giving her Calcium would be a good idea.

I'd also check her over for lice/mites and see that her crop is emptying overnight.
