A few nights ago, some sort of predator got into the coop and killed one of my two chickens. I'm am completely heartbroken and i'm now so paranoid that something will get in again. I have reinforced the run/coop but i'm still really nervous. I have been setting traps every night and in the morning, the food is gone and the trap is sprung but there is nothing inside. I don't know what to do :(

Also, the other chicken had a small bloody scab right above the beak.. what should I do to make sure she doesn't get it infected or get a disease from whatever predator it was?

It is scabbed over but I will put hydrogen peroxide and neosporin on it as soon as I get home from work today.

Clean the wound with hydrogen peroxide, put some iodine, or antiseptic cream on it.

Half strength hydrogen peroxide, please, and only for the initial cleansing. Peroxide does some really awful stuff to healthy tissue, especially with continued use.

The attack happened 2 nights ago. It is completely scabbed over... is it too late for the hydrogen peroxide? should I just apply neosporin?

Here are a couple new pics of where she got scratched by something. been a week and I am just nervous that it might be infected... does this look normal?

Actually from the photo it looks like it is drying up and probably healing on its own. So long as there is no discharge I would just keep it clean and dry and let it continue to heal.
