I do have a young guy that I plan on showing.

He is only 3 months old now. I still have 5 more months until the state fair!

I agree with Nikki, they're decent, but I wouldn't breed from the male. His comb is way too red and the wing does look odd. The pullet looks much better, but she may also have a light face. Type is pretty nice though.

OK, I have a chance to get some better ones, which would you choose. They are all roosters and have won ribbons in the fair. Please vote on # 1, 2 or 3. Thanks for the replys.

Don't get any of the last three. They don't look to be worth more than $5.00.

The ONLY one I'd consider would be the last one as his comb is the correct shape and color. But make sure of toes, feathering when you get there. Mainly because you can't see how he stands in the guy's hand.

Just from those pics, I wouldn't even consider the first 2. Too red in the face, small crests, and monstrous combs on both of them. Both of them look to be non-bearded too. The 3rd is better but far from perfect. Better skin color and comb shape. He looks to only be partially bearded. Can't see anything on their feet. Looks to be some hard feathering on the tail too. Personally I'd pass on all 3 of those.

I'm by far not a silkie expert, but they don't look like show quality to me. Their "do's" look flat rather than fluffy. Don't know whether that's a factor or not, but I know I'd want a fluffy silkie even just for a pet. Plus their "hats" seem poor (sorry not up on the silkie lingo

). Combs also look too red - I thought they are supposed to be dark? Whether he SAYS they are SQ, blue ribbon winners or not, I wouldn't spend near that much $ on them, especially if you want to show - I'd pass and just wait it out.

(I feel your pain - I HATE waiting, I'm a "now" kind of person
