Sorry - I have no idea - but I think they are BEAUTIFUL!!

I was looking for info on showing chickens - where do you find this info at? I would LOVE to show my Silkies & maybe my Polish as well. Then again - I haven't even figured out how to post pic's on here! LOL! You can see my pics on my blog at http://clunettechicks.blogspot.com/. I just started the blog, so there's only 1 post so far. LOL!

Good luck! I hope to hear from someone on the showing chickens.

for each breed of bird there is a standard. There is a compilation of these standards called the "American Poultry Association's Standard of Perfection." I purchased the cheapo book that was $14.00. It is the black and white version, so no pretty colors to look at. The artwork in the black and white version is absolutely amazing though.

Anyway, you can purchase the standard on the American Poultry Association's website, or you can try and search through websites to see if a person or group has posted that breed's standard on their page.

HatTrickSilkies responded to this thread. If you really want good Silkies contact her. There aren't many better.

Except for the red combs, your original pair is far superior to these. For pets, they would be wonderful.

If you want to show them, you may have to visit a breeder's website and have them shipped if you can't find the quality locally. If you have a longer time-frame you may consider getting eggs from a breeder. I bought eggs from Bobbi Porto and though it's too early to tell, they look very promising at 4 weeks old.

To add to this what rodriguezpoultry had to say..
You might all so ask how many others where in the class with him..
It's easy to win a class when your the only one in it...

From the 2nd set of photos, the only one to even consider is the third. I can;t tell type on any of them due to the way you are holding them. Ask that they put the bird on something level and take photos as the bird stands on his own. Depending on his stance as to whether he is worth considering or not.

Red comb is HARD to breed out.

Thank you for your honesty. I will not be buying those birds. I will just be happy with the trio that I have. If I ever figure out how to put pics on my page, I would show you them.
