please - need some advice - 2 day old chick can't stand or walk!

Should I make the space between the legs smaller? that was hard to gauge because this chick is larger/heavier than the one in the pictures on the "band-aid guide".

When the legs are splayed they often sit on their hock joint causing damage. You said it was red and swollen and is less so now so it sounds like it is healing but it can take longer with the bandages to allow for the hock to heal enough to hold the tendon in place. You can try adjusting the space on the bandage, I don't think it would cause any damage. Anything is better than putting weight on the joint.
