Please please help! Chick has a tbin stand of cord still attached.

Yes, try to candle it to see if there's life, otherwise toss it. If the incubator already smells, I worry that it might explode and spread horrible badness.
If your chick is still attached to the stringy thing, you can do what we do to the umbilical cord for baby mammals- tie it off close to the chick if it doesn't already seem dried and stringy (this is to avoid bleeding from any vessels) cut it off, and dip the end in a disinfectant such as iodine.
Thanks Doc, I know everyone is busy with the holiday. Thanks for pop in.:)

If it's easy to detach, then there's likely no need to tie it off. You just need to tie off anything that's still juicy. :) A little bit of cotton thread is fine, but it doesn't sound necessary in this case.

Im 100% sure on the settings, i will give the next batch a go with the lower humidity, thanks so much, for the reply! Here is hoping this chick detaches quickly, its so stressful!

Also, this is my other that had a pea size yolk sack, his butt was cleaned an hour ago... Normal or not? Is it the yolk absorbing?
