Well, we are hatching Bantam Frizzled Cochins... 5 have hatch out just perfectly... then we were noticing how these 2 eggs were really taking a long time to hatch completely. They has already had the egg cracked open for half the egg and we were worried it was gunna dry up on them, we gave them atleast 24 hours before we attempted to help... they were sooo tired and were really giving a fit to get out... well we just helped them a little more and allowed them to push themselves out.... well 1 pushed himself out and I have noticed he has been developementally slow... he is still very weak and can't hardly walk (it has been since atleast 11 o'clock last night when we helped them both).... But, now about the chick I am really worried bout (the other egg that didnt puch himself out good).... I have gently got all the egg shell off of him which was a job in itself... but he has a big air pocket right above his wing between his wing and his neck. He can't walk period. I have checked, he has all his toes and his legs are not broke. He just holds all his toes together... IDK what to do for it... PLEASE HELP!!

If your search "Curled Toe" you'll see some threads on how to treat the toe issue. I don't have any experience with your other issues though.

I hate that for you i can not help but i am so sorry

No one knows what to do about an air pocket looking thing???!!! the skin is raised from the skin.. kinda blown up like a balloon! please!

The "air pocket" could be the crop full of air from being stuck while hatching. If it's slightly to the right of the breastbone on the chest then that's what it is. Just leave it alone & it will go away. If it's elsewhere, it could be an injury that collected air under the skin. You can try dousing a needle in alcohol & gently puncturing the bubble to release the air, or you can leave it alone & it will eventually return to normal. As for the baby who can't walk, I'd be more concerned there. If it's scooting around on it's butt & not using it's legs it's not likely to survive. I've never had 1 like that make it more than 2-3 days. You can try little pieces of cardstock or thick paper taped to it's feet to flatten the toes out & a loop of tape or vet wrap to hold it's legs under it. You can also stretch it's legs & run them thru the full range of motion for it several times per day, as well as holding the baby up so it can kick it's legs to strengthen them. Other than that, there isn't much to be done for the legs.
