My two year old Lab is Emily (Emmy, Em, Poop...mostly Em). We did not name her until maybe a week and a half after she was here.

My belief is that an animal earns a name, the animal is (after X amount of time) "THAT" name. attitude, expressions, personality, quirks all come in to play.

If you name her Gracie, Emily.......in 10 days she may be a Molly, Hazel, Miss Toad, Frankie, Susie, or one of those names your husband is mentioning.

Think about all the critters that aren't called by their given names...people too.

She's gorgeous and I'm sure your excited.

have her breathe in a zip lock bag, seal it fast , then mail that great "puppy breath' to me!!!!!
