Dinah, the blue EE, Riley, is a cross of my Barred Rock rooster over the first blue Ameraucana hen in my post above, Charlotte. She lays a lovely light olive green egg.

do blue ameraucana's lay blue eggs? I didn't think I'd want any until I learned that they can be a selling point.
sorry missed the earlier post. Anyhow do chicks from blue egg lay blue or is it not that way. Is it possible to develope a line of blue laying chickens so you can predict the color of eggs laid?
