Thanks everyone.

I think today my mother and i will be making the decision to take her off I.V. support and just keep her comfortable as possible. It's just SO hard because shes always been so strong..maybe she can pull through this too?? And if we take away the medical support then she definatley wont have a chance to recover..
UGH! Its just hard to make the right decision...

Please help her to find her way to the open gates of your kingdom. Bless her that her journey be one of peace and comfort. Heavenly Father, please also send thy spirit to be with her family at this most difficult time. May they continue to have the wisdom and the strength to make the best decisions. May the doctors and all involved be blessed with discernment and the ability to make this difficult time a bearable one for all.

We are all blessed in the knowledge that you will be waiting with open arms and a loving spirit for all who enter your kingdom.

Thank you Camelot..
We just set up hospice..We think its best to help her be in peace now. I've worked in nursing homes for many years..i just hope and pray she dosent linger and suffer.
We decided to stop the I.V. fluids because she also has CHF..and all those fluids going in and not coming out will literally make her drown..
we feel the more peaceful (less painful) way is to stop the I.V. fluids so she dosent have that horrible feeling of fluid in her lungs..i know it may sound bad to some people. But we would rather have her dehydrate then drown in fluids.(i hope that makes sense to people?..)..still a tough decision either way we choose.

I agree. I completely understand y'alls decision and no one has the right to question or judge you for it. You know your grandma and I'm sure you'll do what is right.
