Thanks, y'all. Somehow the news media have mostly missed this one. It is as bad as it gets. Thankfully a lot of the tributaries and rivers are starting to receed. The mess is just unbelieveable. Pray now for the clean up and the health of those cleaning. The flood waters are highly contaminated. They are recommending that people throw away anything permeable that the water has touched. A lot of people will lose everything and most of this won't be covered by insurance. It just breaks your heart.

That is awful. We have been told to boil our drinking water, but at least we have some. I feel for all those who have lost so much in this mess! Glad to hear the waters are receding!!!! It is times like this I wish I could just leave home for a few weeks and go to areas hit and help clean up!

I know exactly what you mean!

The Red Cross is on its way from here and I have made a donation. Praying for things to dry out swiftly, and for the damages to be less than expected!!

We live on Summers Branch Creek that flows out of Portland TN. Thought you might like to see some pics. Don't worry we lost very little and it receeded quickly. I remember the flood of the 70's when Opryland got nailed. It took along time to come back from it. Nashville is 30 mins. from me they are facing extreme hardship. I fear it will be a long time till things get back to some type of normality.

The barn beside our house. This is the 1st time the creek ever got in the barn.

Citygirl... thought I would post some pics of our front yard on Sunday. Ours was not the loss that some are feeling. They are being lifted up in prayer.

Wow, Countrygirl! You got a lot of water too! It just boggles the mind, doesn't it?

I am so thankful that my area was missed. Many of my Nashville friends were not so lucky. Last I heard the river was holding its height due to dam releases upstream. It will take months and months of recovery. So many people are going to take a financial hit on top of previous financial problems. This will go on and on.

Opryland is estimating that they will be closed or partially closed until Christmas. That is a lot of people out of work.
