I so hope everything comes out allright for poor little Vic. I spent 800 dollars on one of my favorite hens trying to get rid of severe bumblefoot. Not quite the same magnitude of little Vic's vet bills but ....everyone thought I was crazy an the point is, you just fall in love with these birds and that's all that matters. Sounds like Vic is getting the best of care and I'm praying for a speedy, uncomplicated recovery!!!!

UPDATE!!!!!

Victor ris coming home today!!!! All those thoughts and prayers have done their job!!! YAY! the vet just called me and said Vic is acting like he never even had surgery. lol. They are thinking we can pick him up after 5pm! We are so happy to bring him home!

I'm glad Victor is doing so well! Is there any chance that he might have problems later because the ovaries are still there?

there could be a potential problem with egg yolk forming if the ovaries don't get the hint to stop making eggs. If so it will build in the belly cavity and will have to be drained and antibiotics will be needed. We could try Luprin.
