Thanks y'all. And don't worry, they don't send you anything in the mail with your street address. I sign a lot of petitions on that site. Maybe email though. There is an opt out check box at the bottom, I think.

Where would I find out the date this petition started circulating and how current the information is? I'm not saying this IS the case, but quite often, I've found that old issues have a way of being revitalized as a new call to action.
ETA I'm always a skeptic. I found a current article, seems to be quite factual. Don't know if it is actual newspaper or tree hugger humaniac embelished Gazette, but seems like a real and current issue to me. If it's true, we would all be charged with minor animal neglect or cruelty for allowing chickens to overheat and suffocate.
