Please reply, is this chick a barred rock roo?

Thanx anywho, I guess we'll see what it is when it's fully feathered out. Doesn't have a tall comb or longer tail feathers, but does have sturdier legs and the look like I'm the boss!

Could the first one be a sex-link roo? My husband accidentally brought me home a bunch of them and only 2 little sex links pullets, because he thought the barred look was much prettier than the plain black ones. LOL

He didn't know that was how you ID gender.

As they have grown the roo's have developed a much lighter head with a barred body. My 9 and 11 year old boys think they look like knights with chain mail on their heads. (Their favorite is Sir Poops-a-lot.)

Not sure about the bantam, but he is really beautiful! I think the floppy comb gives him a rakish, man-about-town sort of air.....

The roo was probably a Rhode Island Red (or Red of some sort). A BR hen and a RIR rooster will produce sex links. The males come out barred and the pullets are black with golden reddish feathering on the chest and sometimes all the way around like a cape.
