Sorry to hear about your chicken. You can feed yogurt and electrolyte water. And definitely the corrid/amprol. Just be careful he doesn't aspirate any of it.
Sounds like the vet doesn't know himself. Where I come from our vets won't have anything to do with a chicken and will just give us BS or not return our calls. He should have told you what was wrong or told you he don't know.
Keep up the work and he should get better. I had a sick chick once and she pulled through on yogurt water and corrid.
