Please say I got leghorns

I agree that they are too well feathered for cornish. Here are some of our 3wk old cornish.

I dont believe they are leghorns. There chest is very big compared to a leghorn. Leghorns are sleek and thin.

I think they are cornish x's

if you do not have them on a high percentage feed and allow them to gorge themselves 24/7 they won't get that big and featherless. and since they are with other chicks as well they probably have to fight for their food.

I have 1 meatie that I kept back that is now 10 weeks old and she is larger than the rest, but still only at 4 lbs or so. I think I am going to keep her as long as I can.

I agree with you, BUT as barefoot stated now that i think of it it could be that its the feed.

They wouldn't grow as big as birds that are on a high protein feed (though most chick starters are fairly high in protein anyway), but they would still be decidedly bigger than other breeds of the same age. I'm not certain they are leghorns but nor do they look like cornish.

Thank you all for the replies!! I appreciate it. I would prefer leghorns, but I wouldn't mind white rocks either.

they're not cornish x, but if they are, I will love them and care for them just the same!
