Please say it isn't so.....

Ach! How cute is your coop! Love the sky and sun ceiling and front porch ... and colors ... and the hanging names ... and the flock on those two chairs ... everything!!

What a crock! My older hens are going into their fourth winter and doing just fine. In fact, they just finished a molt and are back to laying.

NOT TRUE!.....he must be telling you that because he doesnt feel good about what he does to his chickens before winter!!!

Ok, now that I stopped laughing. Sometimes a chicken will die from the cold, for many reasons, But there are many cold hardly breeds. I have had chickens live 10+ years (yes some aged closer to 15+) and our weather here can be crazy. The last 2-3 years we have had snow. I have only lost very few to the cold, more to the heat (now that can be a killer). I did lose a rooster about 2years ago to the cold, but he was around 10yrs old (give or take a couple of years). He died next to his hen. That was a sad day. He could have just died of old age though.
But a 3yr old cold hardy chicken should not to the cold. There are always exceptions though (how cold, illness, etc.).
And Love the coop.
