please say rooster!

If you're so fired up to get a rooster, I've got a crapton of cockerels this year, some real beauties---blue barred, blue and red EE, splash barred. How about a road trip and come take some off my hands?

also, is very hard to find a good rooster in my town. Chickens around here are only bred for cock fighting. Even the hens you find are very lean mean and extremely vicious. It was very hard finding good hens, so I expect a lot of trouble finding a tame roo. Cock fighting is a huge problem in el Paso and it is further perpetuated by the fact the municipal government sees it as a part of local culture. Sad really.

I'm in Southern Oregon, so it would be quite a trip. But feel free to come on up, I can sure load you up! I'll even feed you dinner if you make it this far.....chicken enchiladas, of course

And to think I was just getting ready to bet the farm on him, I mean 'her'. I, too, could hook you up with a couple of nice roosters! And California IS closer to Texas than Oregon is...lol !!!

I'm sorry to hear that El Paso's governing head honchos think that cock fighting helps with the city's 'cultural' appeal. I've driven through your city, and it's beautiful, but now that I know that, I definitely won't be driving through it again !!!

Yup, I'd bet money on boy. He appears to have disproportionately long legs and what look like sickle feathers starting to curve. That comb and wattles on a long neck are suspect too. With the white, it can be harder to differentiate hackle and saddle feathers, but profile and stature alone scream cock to me. Here is a photo of a 12 week delaware cross cockerel to give you some comparison to your guy.

Grow up to this very quickly.

Here are a couple about half way between

You can also turn the feathers up on his neck and see if there are extra pin-feathers getting ready to sprout out underneath and form a nice thick hackle. Again, with the all white it will be a bit harder to tell.
