Please sign this petition against TSCs new brooders

Someone made the comment on this thread about the person starting the petition...(or maybe the OP? Not sure who they meant) being a "pompous ass?" Because they are concerned about the welfare of helpless chicks??? I don't understand.

Anyway, we don't buy chicks from TSC. Period. Or anywhere else where they're a large retail facility. TSC is useful..sometimes, for buying poultry supplies. They're just like any other retail establishment. The chicks are merchandise...and that's how they're regarded and handled. They do, however, prevent customers from picking up and handling the chicks prior to purchase...and that's a good thing for a whole lot of reasons.
It was me. And I called the you tuber a pompas ass. His attitude is terrible. Not because he "cares" about chicks but, well, just read my post again

TSC has installed new brooders this year that are severely abusive to the chicks. There have been several complaints on their facebook page and at their corporate level. Chicks are dying at a much higher rate due to these tower brooders. Please sign this petition to have TSC go back to doing what is best for the birds!

Thank you. Feel free to post anything you have seen regarding these bad brooder set ups. We went to Rural King yesterday and they still had open air brooders so this is just TSC handing over a project to an engineer to make the ideal brooder.
Not good. I was the Tractor Supply on Buckeye, AZ today. I was there to buy Equine Senior and on my way to the register I stopped to look at the chicks. It’s horrible, every chick in the stacked brooder had pasty butt really extremely bad! There was an store worker cleaning the plastic on the brooder. I advised her about the chicks condition also of the one dead that was being trampled on, flat! I asked to speak to the store manager. I informed the store manager, Mark, that the chicks were not being taking care of because every single chick had extreme pasty butt. There must be something wrong with these brooder because I have never seen TSC chicks look this way. The store manager said he will get someone to take care of them. I can’t believe no one working there knew this already!!! I purchased 6 just to try to save their lives. I took them home and cleaned them up and they are now under a heat lamp sleeping. If anyone is in the Buckeye area please go by and take a look. Please let them know this isn’t right.

If people didn't use tractor supply to source chicks they wouldn't have them cause they wouldn't sell. I'd venture to say most maybe even including the original poster are hypocrites. If you bought from tractor then you have no say in the matter. So my question is have the people that signed it bought from them before?

What about hatcheries? Are they ok? The way they handle chicks or even brood stock for that matter? I guess thats ok.
Nice to pick and choose your battles depending on where you source yours from
I have bought chicks also from TSC several times. TSC used to use heat lamps and all chicks were healthy.

We went into our local TSC recently and I'm happy to report I only saw one with pasty butt and they all appeared warm. There was a thermometer in each brooder, puppy pads on the floor and the employees all had chick monitoring mics. However they only were using 4 or 5 of the brooders and they were VERY overcrowded. I'm very sorry with what you witnessed at your store. I recommend you reach out to someone higher up if you see it again.

I'm going to make an effort to try to just start ordering from Ideal but I can't help it when I see helpless baby chicks that are just kinda there suffering I could reach into the brooder through the waterer where I also grabbed a frizzle that was sitting in the water freezing to death
